Muhammad Irshad Khan

With more than twenty years of professional experience, Mr. Irshad Khan has worked with international organizations and companies, closely engaging with the private sector on feasibility studies, hydropower plant construction, policy formulation, and the development of market strategies for the deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions in Pakistan, as well as in projects across other countries.
His core competencies include the technical and economic evaluation of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, the development of policies to attract private sector investment, and the design of financial instruments for renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies, encompassing both grid-connected and off-grid applications. His principal areas of expertise include hydropower, solar photovoltaic (PV), biomass/biogas, and energy efficiency in the building and industrial sectors.
He is currently serving with GIZ Pakistan as Project Director in the Energy and Climate Change sphere.
