Nazmun Nahar

Energy Specialist,
Asian Development Bank

Nazmun Nahar is an Energy Specialist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), currently based in Manila, Philippines. With a 20-year career as a driven engineering professional in the power and energy sector, she manages a project portfolio that focuses heavily on energy access, sustainability, climate resilience, and the transition to a low-carbon future. In her current role, Nazmun leads complex investment projects belonging to nexus fields in Bangladesh, ensuring compliance with ADB’s Energy Policy while providing critical procurement oversight to executing agencies. Prior to joining ADB, she spearheaded sustainable energy initiatives as a Senior Advisor at German Technical Cooperation (GIZ, formerly known as GtZ) and as a Project Manager at Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Limited, the pioneering RE integrator in Bangladesh. A collaborative and people-oriented leader, she holds an Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), a renewable energy professional certification from the University of Dhaka, and is a 2011 alumna of the International Visitor's Leadership Program (IVLP), Department of States, USA.
