Pek Hoong Chong earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He continued his education at the same university, earning both a Master of Engineering and a Master of Business Administration. He is an active member of the Environment and Safety Committee at the South East Asia Iron and Steel Institute. Previously, he served as a Board Member for the Thailand Prestressed Wire Industry Association and the Waste Management and Recycling Association of Singapore. Additionally, he held a position as a former Concrete and Structural Committee Member at the Singapore Green Building Council. With over two decades of valuable experience in the steel manufacturing industry, he embarked on his career journey at NatSteel Holdings Pte. Ltd. There, he navigated through various roles, culminating in his appointment as the Senior Vice President and Head of the Metallics Conversion Division. He then became a Managing Director at TSN Wires Co., Ltd. (Thailand) and later, Managing Director at The Siam Industrial Wire Co., Ltd. (Thailand). From 2019 to the present, he has held the position of Chief Technical Officer at SteelAsia Manufacturing Corporation.
