Peter Warren

Climate Innovation & Finance,
UK Government

Dr. Peter Warren leads the UK Government Department for Energy Security & Net Zero’s international climate finance (Official Development Assistance) and policy for clean energy innovation in aid-eligible countries. He previously led the team managing the former UK Government Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy’s ODA investments in infrastructure and cities, and oversaw the former UK Government Department of Energy and Climate Change’s work on smart energy-R&D. Peter previously worked in the International Energy Agency on energy efficiency in emerging economies and was a Sustainability Manager in industry. He holds a PhD in energy policy from University College London, two multidisciplinary MSc degrees, a PgC and a BSc all in the energy and climate field. Peter is a Chartered Environmentalist, a Lecturer in energy and climate policy, and climate finance and investment, at UCL (since 2013), and a Lecturer in climate finance and sustainability at the University of Vienna.
