Atty. Poch Ambrosio has spent his entire legal career in the Philippine power industry, from the 1990’s when the government brought in diesel power barges to deal with rolling blackouts, to today’s mainstreaming of and transition to renewable energy.
After serving as counsel and Chief of Staff of Secretary Vincent Pérez of the Philippine Department of Energy, he joined NorthWind Power Development Corporation as one of the founders of the iconic 24.75MW Bangui Bay wind farm, the first on-grid commercial wind farm in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. NorthWind is also the first investment in power and renewable energy of ACEN Corporation, where is Vice President for Regulatory Matters.
A founder of the Wind Energy Developers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (WEDAP), Atty Ambrosio is the incumbent President of this pioneering advocacy group for the Philippine wind industry, as well as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Pilipinas Offshore Wind Energy Resources, Inc. (POWER), which focuses on the development of the offshore wind industry. He is also a Trustee and concurrent Treasurer of the Developers of Renewable Energy for AdvanceMent, Inc. (DREAM), the umbrella organization of Philippine renewable energy associations.
