Rifnas Ahamed is the Project Manager (AMI) at Electricity Distribution Lanka (Private) Limited and a core member of the team responsible for the design and development of CEBAssist, EDL’s award-winning in-house digital utility platform. He has extensive experience in advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), smart grid systems, distribution management, enterprise IT solutions and telecommunications. His work focuses on integrating AMI, DER monitoring, solar forecasting, and real-time operational systems to support modern utility operations. Rifnas is currently involved in the SMART-DCC project, where he contributes to the design and implementation of advanced solutions for distributed energy resource integration, real-time monitoring, and operational decision support. His presentation at ACEF 2026 highlights Sri Lanka’s practical, utility-led approach to scaling rooftop solar integration through forecasting, monitoring, and curtailment.
