Tanvir Ebne Bashar, Vice President at IDCOL, is a senior development finance practitioner, climate finance expert, and published researcher. He spearheads initiatives accelerating Bangladesh’s clean energy transition and sustainable infrastructure development. At IDCOL, he oversees USD 450 million in development financing programmes, leading GCF-funded climate development initiatives alongside the JICA-supported EE&C Financing Project. He combines extensive experience in project finance and inclusive clean energy with proven expertise in public-private partnership (PPP) transactions, backed by firsthand global exposure through JICA’s EE&C Knowledge Co-Creation Programme in Japan and scholarly econometric research published in international financial journals. Concurrently, he manages a USD 200+ million asset portfolio, catalysing diverse private capital for sustainable infrastructure, clean energy, and industrial transformation to expand climate-aligned investments across Bangladesh. He has also been instrumental in mobilising multi-hundred-million-dollar development finance from leading international partners, including JICA, GCF, ADB, AFD, and KfW, strengthening Bangladesh’s clean energy ecosystem. Known as a leading voice in promoting clean energy financing in Bangladesh, he regularly speaks at seminars, policy roundtables, and specialised workshops, advancing the nation’s climate finance architecture through policy dialogue and knowledge sharing.
