Vinod Shrivastava

Vinod Shrivastava is the Managing Director of CORE International, Inc., an international management consulting firm that he founded in 1984, and Lead Advisor for the USAID Enhancing Equality in Energy for Southeast Asia (E4SEA) Activity. Over his career in the power sector, he has advised donors, governments, regulators, private energy companies, and utilities on interventions to increase access of modern energy as a way to encourage economic and social development. His areas of expertise include power sector project development; sector reform and restructuring; gender-inclusive energy sector governance, power market development and power pools; utility capitalization and privatization strategies; and regulatory interventions to improve both access and quality of electricity supply and service to consumers. Over the last 30 years, he has been extensively working with donors, utilities, and regulators in Africa, Asia and Europe on power sector planning, project development, Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) development, due diligence of power sector investments, Independent Power Producer (IPP) regime development, regulatory governance, creative power project financing and implementation approaches, and just energy transition. His in-country power sector reform experience spans over all continents and some 75 countries worldwide.
Mr. Shrivastava is an AMP, Management and Finance, Graduate of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania; has a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering/Physics; an M.S. Degree in Applied Technology; and a Ph.D. (abd) in Applied Physics. He was a UNESCO Fellow in Denmark and Fulbright Fellow in the U.S. Mr. Shrivastava has been a keynote speakers and speaker at major regional and international energy conferences. During his career, he has received numerous awards and commendations from many reforming governments and private companies worldwide.
