"Xeniya has over 18 years of international experience in financing and investing in emerging markets. Prior to joining Asian Development Bank (ADB), Xeniya spent 10 years with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), where she held progressively responsible roles, last being Associate Director at Energy Eurasia Department, Sustainable Infrastructure Group. Xeniya generated, structured, and executed a wide range of high profile private and public sector transactions and policy engagements with special emphasis on establishing enabling environments for renewable energy and mobilizing technical assistance to reach financial close for some of the first award-winning utility-scale renewable projects under project finance structure. Prior to the EBRD, Xeniya had over 5 years of experience in project finance and commercial banking at the largest private Kazakh bank. Xeniya has a degree in International Economic Relations from Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan; was Edmund Muskie Fellow and received her master’s degree in International Relations, specializing in Finance and Energy from Columbia University in the City of New York and was a visiting Central Asia, Mongolia, the Caucasus and Afghanistan (CAMCA) fellow at Johns Hopkins University."
