Ziwei Liao is a Senior Investment Officer at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), where she leads the Bank’s energy sector engagement in Southeast Asia. Since joining AIIB in 2018, she has originated and structured landmark public and private sector financings, successfully mobilizing capital from international commercial banks, multilateral institutions, and local development partners. Before joining AIIB, Ziwei spent over 14 years as an investment professional with leading Chinese and U.S. financial institutions and corporations. She has deep expertise across the energy and urban utilities sectors, as well as in clean and digital technologies, with global experience spanning public finance, project finance, direct equity investment, M&A, strategy, and management consulting. Ziwei earned her undergraduate degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Hong Kong, a Master’s in Economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She is a CFA charterholder and a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
