Yun Zhou is the Country Operations Head for the People's Republic of China at ADB. In this role, she supports the implementation of ADB’s strategic priorities in the PRC, oversees project design and execution, and coordinates the collaboration with government agencies and other key stakeholders. Dr. Zhou holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from Beijing Normal University and has over 30 years of professional experience, including 10 years at ADB. She joined ADB in January 2015 as an Environment Specialist. Prior to ADB, she was Director of the International Cooperation Center at the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment’s leading research and policy advisory body.

Yunsoung Kim is the founder and CEO of Energy and Space, Inc. Energy and Space is a civil society think tank providing solution-oriented policies for energy transition through a systematic and scientific approach that considers spatial planning in maritime and rural areas. Since receiving her Ph.D. in urban planning from Seoul National University in 2007, she has held leadership roles in climate and renewable energy policy, including analyzing the socioeconomic effects of the offshore wind development, and regenerating rural areas to respond to the climate crisis. Before founding Energy and Space, Yunsoung worked at Green Energy Strategy Institute and the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation as a research fellow. Yunsoung's expertise lies in the economic analysis of renewable energy systems, local acceptance, and legislation. Yunsoung is a non-executive director of the Korea Energy Agency, a working group leader of 6th New & Renewable Energy Basic Plan of Ministry of Trade, Industry&Energy, and co-chair of the Offshore Energy Industry Forum which is a network of Korean offshore wind supply chain companies. In 2023, she was honored to receive a Minister Citation from the MAFRA.

Yusuf Suryanto is the Director of Transmission, Electricity, and Aerospace at Indonesia’s Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) where he has dedicated over 20 years of involvement in the national development planning, with a current focus on energy and electricity sector planning. he combines expertise in engineering, applied economics, and policy formulation and his work experiences span strategic project management, energy transition policies, and green financing initiatives. Yusuf holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Diponegoro University and a Master’s in Economics from Illinois State University.

Appointed as the Alternate Executive Director (AED) for People’s Republic of China at the Asian Development Bank, effective 30 August 2024.Shu is a national of the People’s Republic of China. He completed his PhD and Master’s degree in Economics from Renmin University of PRC in 2020 and 2009. He also holds a Master’s degree in Health, Society and Population in London School of Economics in UKin 2010. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Zhejiang Wanli University of PRC in 2004.Prior to his appointment as AED, Shu was the Director in the International Department of the Ministry of Finance (MOF), PRC. He had been working in various positions in the MOF including the Deputy Director in the Minister’s office since 2004. He also served as the Senior Advisor in the New Development Bank based in Shanghai and analyst in the Barclays Capital Headquartered in London.

Zhandos Nurmaganbetov is the Director General of the KAZENERGY Association, appointed in August 2024. He has held key leadership roles across Kazakhstan’s energy sector, including serving as Vice Minister of Energy (2021–2023), and previously as Managing Director for Strategy, Sustainable Development, and Digital Transformation at KEGOC JSC. His extensive professional background includes executive positions at the Settlement and Financial Center for Support of Renewable Energy Sources, Kyzylorda Distribution Power Grid Company, and Karaganda Regional Energy Company. He also led Kyzylorda’s Social and Entrepreneurial Corporation and Karuglesbyt LLP. Nurmaganbetov holds degrees from Karaganda State University, University of International Business, Kyzylorda State University, and KIMEP University, reflecting a strong academic foundation in business and public administration.

Dr Zulfikar Yurnaidi is the Head of Energy Modeling, Policy and Planning (MPP) Department and Acting Head of Energy Efficiency and Conservation (CEE) Department of ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE). MPP department leads the energy research and cooperation activities in ASEAN, especially to implement the Regional Energy Policy and Planning (REPP), including cross-sectoral issues, and support other programme areas of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC). Among others, the department is responsible for the development of the ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO) and ASEAN Energy Database System (AEDS). CEE Department is responsible for the implementation of EE&C programme area of the APAEC, including through project implementations, such as those of AsBuilT with GGGI/IKI, PEEB ASEAN with AFD, EE Financing in Industry with KDB/GCF, AJEEP with ECCJ/METI, CEFIA with BCG/METI, also with partners such as UNEP U4E and UN ESCAP.

Zviad Gachechiladze is the Director of Organized Markets Development and Electricity Accounting at JSC Georgian State Electrosystem, appointed in 2022. With a background in energy regulation and electricity market development, he previously held senior roles at the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission from 2014 to 2022, and served as a counsellor to Deloitte Consulting. He has extensive international project experience, including positions with the Energy Union, European Regulatory Council, and UNDP, and has been involved with various consulting and academic institutions. Zviad holds a doctorate from the Technical University of Georgia, where he also taught as an associate professor, and has authored numerous scientific publications and participated in over 50 international training conferences.
