From Pipeline to Bankable Projects: Financing the ASEAN Power Grid

This session will examine the key barriers preventing ASEAN Power Grid cross-border transmission projects from reaching financial close, including gaps in project preparation, bankability, and risk allocation. Panelists will explore how PPP structures and blended-finance instruments can strengthen early-stage risk mitigation and align projects with commercial lender expectations. They will also identify opportunities for stronger coordination among DFIs and bilateral partners to crowd in private capital and accelerate implementation.
