Bio

Jean-Baptiste Dreanic is currently Head of Operations for ENGIE Services Philippines, a fast-growing division of ENGIE Group, providing district cooling systems, energy efficiency solutions, renewable energy solutions and integrated facilities management services, for both Commercial and Industrial clients. Jean-Baptiste joined ENGIE in 2014 and has occupied positions in Operations, Business Development, Partnerships, Mergers and Acquisitions, in Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Philippines. With an end-to-end understanding of ENGIE customers’ energy challenges and the solutions to address them, Jean-Baptiste is currently managing an operation team of 300 engineers and technicians to support ENGIE’s customers in meeting their energy needs while implementing their transition towards carbon neutrality. In addition to his professional experience in Asia Pacific, Jean-Baptiste holds a MSc in Energy Management System from Ecole des Mines in France and a MSc in Renewable Energy and Energy Optimisation from Polytechnique Centre of Zaragoza in Spain.

Jennifer E. Leisch, Ph.D. is an energy and climate change expert, with extensive experience implementing complex international development projects in emerging markets, especially in Asia. She currently the director of Advanced Energy Systems on the USAID Vietnam Low Emission Energy Program II based in Hanoi, Vietnam, supporting strategies aimed at industrial energy efficiency, market-based mechanisms for GHG reductions, and electric vehicle deployment. She has over 20 years of experience in clean tech research and development, power sector transformation, climate change mitigation, and energy sector resilience - having worked at USAID, Stanford University, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Dr. Leisch holds a Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry and Materials Science from the Colorado School of Mines.

Dr. Jian Peng is the technical advisor for KZO Seafarm, a pioneering seafarm promoting sustainable marine aquaculture.

With over 20 years of experience, Jignasa leads fund raising at Fourth Partner Energy Group. She drives relationships with banks, NBFCs and global DFIs for the Group. As part of her portfolio, she actively manages risk function covering credit selection and PPA under-writing to ensure the asset quality of the portfolio. Prior to joining Fourth Partner Jignasa worked with leading banks including HDFC Bank. Her prior experience encompasses market risk and credit risk with specific emphasis on mid-market borrowers. She holds an MBA in finance from Mumbai University and BE from VJTI.

FAN Jing-Li is Professor and a Ph.D. Supervisor at School of Energy and Mining Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing (CUMTB). She got her PhD degree Beijing Institute of Technology (CEEP-BIT) in July 2014. She stayed one-year as a visiting scholar at Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University during 2011-2012. Her research and work have been primarily focusing on energy economics and climate change issues since 2009. Moreover, she is a Guest Editor for Journal of Cleaner Production and an anonymous reviewer for over 10 international journals such as Applied Energy, Energy, and Energy Policy. Now, Dr. FAN performs as the director of over 10 projects including that from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research, United Nation of Development Programme Organization Department of the Beijing Committee, the Energy Foundation, International Energy Agency and State Key Laboratory of Coal Resource and Safe Mining. As a key researcher, she also joined into several projects from Chinese government agencies including National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), NSFC.

Dr Jinlong Ma is a Professor at Tianjin University, China, and Vice President of APEC Sustainable Energy Center (APSEC). Prof Jinlong Ma’s experience include energy system planning, renewables, power sector development, energy management and energy efficiency, electricity market and rural electrification. One of the main research themes currently at APSEC is energy transition solutions in APEC member economies. With hands-on experience in many Asia and Pacific countries’ energy sectors, Jinlong previously held senior managerial and technical positions at international technical advisory firms, global energy corporation, and research institutions. Jinlong’s qualifications include PhD, energy economics from Melbourne University; M. Eng., energy policy and planning from Asian Institute of Technology; and B.Eng (Electric) from North China University of Electric Power. He is a member of Institute of Electric and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), International Association of Energy Economics (IAEE), and fellow of Australian Institute of Energy (AIE).

Mr Jinmiao Xu is an energy specialist with more than 15 years of experience in energy field. He works in energy sector group of sustainable development and climate change of ADB and responsible for (i) contribute to ADB’s energy sector quality-at-entry and innovations, focusing on renewable energy and conventional clean energy power generation including cutting edge technology, system integration technologies and energy policy; (ii) provide technical advice and support to lending and non-lending operations in the regional departments; (iii) process and administer regional technical assistance; (iv) contribute to the formulation and implementation for regional cooperation and integration; (v) conduct knowledge work.

Prior to ADB, he had abundant working experience on leading R&D projects, designing and managing thermal power plant mechanical engineering. His expertise includes domestic and global energy and environmental technologies, policies, and programs.

Mr. Xu received BS (2005) in Environmental Engineering from North China Electric Power University, and MS (2011) in Thermal Engineering from the Tsinghua University. He has more than 15 published academic papers, 2 authorized patents and 2 ministerial awards.

Jiten Ghelani is CEO at Promethean Power Systems, a pioneer in enabling access to sustainable cold chain in the world’s most challenging conditions. He holds an MBA from Emory University and a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan. Jiten previously led successful consulting projects in growth strategy and performance improvement for large Fortune 50 and small startup clients at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). He has over 15 years of experience leading companies and business units ranging in size from $1M to $30M.

He is also serving as focal person for Regional Cooperation and Integration for Energy in South Asia. He is a key member of ADB's Energy Sector Group and Climate Change Team and was responsible for overseeing ADB's several key initiatives including Energy for All, and Low Carbon Technology Transfer, among others. Mr. Acharya served as ADB’s focal point for Clean Technical Fund (CTF) and Scaling Up Renewable Energy for Low Income Countries (SREP) under the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) and Sustainable Energy for All Initiative (SE4All). Mr. Acharya, a Nepalese national, has a MA in Economics, MSc in Energy Systems and Management and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Prior to that, he was with Energy Sector Group Secretariat in the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department of ADB since 1 October 2006 as Senior Energy Specialist. He is a key member of ADB's Energy Sector Group and Climate Change Team and was responsible for overseeing ADB's several key initiatives including Energy for All, and Low Carbon Technology Transfer, among others. Mr. Acharya served as ADB’s focal point for Clean Technical Fund (CTF) and Scaling Up Renewable Energy for Low Income Countries (SREP) under the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) as well as Sustainable Energy for All Initiative (SE4All).

Prior to joining ADB, Mr. Acharya was Senior Research Officer in Winrock International in Kathmandu, Nepal covering climate change, carbon financing, energy access and broader clean energy areas.

Mr. Acharya, who is a Nepalese national, has a Master of Arts in Economics, Master of Science in Energy Systems and Management and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Jiyoung An is an associate research fellow working at the Korea Energy Economics Institute. She received her bachelor's degrees in international studies and business administration and master's and doctoral degrees in economics. Since she obtained her Ph.D., she has been working at the public economic research institute. Currently, she is on the hydrogen economy research team of the Korea energy economics institute, where she conducts research related to Korea's hydrogen economy policy.
