This presentations in this session will cover the integration of renewable energy generation into Asia’s existing power grids. A speaker from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will describe the potential of floating solar photovoltaic (FPV) systems in Southeast Asia, highlighting the key findings of a study on FPV technical potential and demonstrating the use of the Renewable Energy Data Explorer (REDE) tool for geospatial analysis. A speaker from Électricité du France (EDF) will describe the challenge of maintaining power system resilience during Asia's energy transition, exploring issues related to variable energy generation, shifting consumption patterns, and managing grid flexibility and markets. A speaker from Enerdata will examine the long-term potential of floating offshore wind power in Asia, highlighting the advantages of this emerging technology in developing sustainable and resilient energy systems. And finally, a speaker from Sun Business Developmen (SunBD) will explore how FPV can be integrated with various sectors—including water, food, transportation, mobility, and the circular economy—to improve life quality, human resilience, and business dynamics.
