Deep Dive Workshop
Digital Innovations for Just Energy Transition
Thursday, 6 June 2025
9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (GMT +8)
Digitalization is a catalyst and the key to just and clean energy transition as it enhances and optimizes development, operation and management of clean energy solutions. Digital innovations provide the requisite platform for decarbonization of energy systems through data sharing, analysis as well as demand and supply optimization. They increase productivity, efficiency, safety, security, reliability and sustainability of clean energy solutions. Despite their high relevance, digital innovations are yet to be fully mainstreamed and operationalized due to prevailing gaps and barriers on information, infrastructure and skills/knowledge.
There are already various attempts by multiple actors including GIZ to fill the gaps and to overcome the barriers for digital transformation in just energy transition. There is a need for dissemination of knowledge, skills and experiences to a wider audience active in just energy transition. In this backdrop, GIZ together with other partners / stakeholders are sharing examples of real experiences from the countries in Asia and the Pacific regarding development and application of innovative digital tools in the field of clean energy.
