Speakers in this session will highlight the importance of women's economic empowerment, gender equality, renewable energy, and climate change adaptation. New Energy Nexus will discuss its efforts to support women entrepreneurs in the energy sector across Asia, aiming to enhance women's economic empowerment and ensure that the benefits of the energy transition reach a wider population. The Green Innovation Centre project in India will present work on solar drying to dry surplus agricultural produce, as well as its partnership approach with private organizations. Yamog Renewable Energy Development Group will present micro hydropower system in a remote village in the Philippines that integrates gender and development aspects, resulting in significant participation of women throughout project implementation. A speaker from Cambodia will highlight the role of women in addressing climate challenges in Cambodia's rain-fed agriculture communities. And GIZ will present a project in India that aims to strengthen the capacities of village-level entrepreneurs to improve their energy supply and maximize the penetration of decentralized renewable energy products in rural areas.
