Bio

Ritishka is based in the High Commission of Canada in Singapore and is the Regional Trade Commissioner covering the clean technology sector for the Asia Pacific region. She has over 8 years of experience in the Clean Technology, Sustainability, Energy and Renewables space spanning technical advisory and international business development across the energy value chain from power generation to transmission and distribution and other low-carbon technologies. In addition to providing business development and market assessment services to Canadian cleantech firms, she reviews and analyzes market trends and provide comprehensive insights to clients. She is passionate about environmental sustainability and is also the Secretary General of the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association of Singapore where she works to support the potential adoption of cutting-edge hydrogen technologies that will pave the way for Singapore and the region's clean energy transition through collaboration and partnerships.

Riznaldi Akbar joined the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) as a Senior Capacity Building and Training Economist in January 2022 His areas of specialization include macroeconomic surveillance, fiscal policy, and budget analysis. Prior to joining ADBI, he worked for Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance in various roles, addressing taxation, macroeconomics, investor relations, and the Group of 20 (G20). He was also a special advisor for the Chairman of Indonesia’s Fiscal Policy Agency (FPA), in which he oversaw multi-faceted fiscal policy issues and coordinated across the units and divisions of the FPA and Ministry of Finance. He holds an MA in public policy from Carnegie Mellon University and a PhD in economics from the University of Western Australia.

Robert has been with Jenbacher since 2005. As a commissioning engineer, he was able to acquire extensive knowledge of gas engines. After various functions in project, product management and sales, Robert is responsible for the control technology of Jenbacher gas engines and microgrids in his current position as product manager

He has dynamic communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills along with sharp business acumen and demonstrated ability to grow revenues, expand business portfolio, and increase bottom-line profitability. Mr. Kremer’s has proven capability to identify, acquire, and exploit growth opportunities; and proactively monitor industry trends and developments, and determine and execute upon the best use of the company’s capital to optimize the creation of long-term value for the company and its shareholders. Robert is the Senior Director - Energy Services at Smart Power Myanmar.

Robert W. van Zwieten, based in Manila, Philippines, has three decades of experience spanning both global finance and sustainable development. He is currently the Managing Director Asia-Pacific for Convergence, the global network for blended finance; a Member of the Advisory Group on Investments at UNOPS S3i; and a pro bono Ambassador for the World Benchmarking Alliance. He founded and led The Serendra Group LLC, a boutique emerging markets advisory firm, and was the President and CEO of EMPEA, the global industry association for private capital in emerging markets. Prior to this, he served as Director of the Private Sector Capital Markets Division at ADB, following a global career in senior leadership positions at firms such as ABN AMRO Bank, General Electric, Lehman Brothers and Singapore Exchange.

Roble has a decade of experience supporting clean energy development in Asia and the Pacific. He is the Director of Partnerships and APAC Markets for the I-REC Standard Foundation, and the founder of SuSca Group and Lock23. Through these roles, Roble has enabled hundreds of entities to source renewable electricity in line with the RE100, Science Based Targets initiative, and other major reporting frameworks. Currently, he is focused on helping governments and utilities to engage in EAC markets through the globally recognized I-REC Standard, and on making Scope 2 and 3 emissions reporting more transparent. To date, Roble has helped process more than $200 million in infrastructure projects for the Asia Development Bank and its regional development partners. He serves as a board member and VP to the Pacific Clean Energy Partners, where he is helping source finance for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in the Pacific Island Countries. Overall, Roble is passionate about bridging public and private sector interests to support high-yield, low-carbon economic growth. He spends most of his free time outside, on or in the water.

Dr. Xunpeng (Roc) Shi is Principal Research Fellow at the Australia-China Relations Institute University of Technology Sydney and the President of the International Society for Energy Transition Studies (ISETS), and a Council Member (President, 2016-2018) of the Chinese Economics Society Australia (CESA). His research interests cover the full spectrum of energy, climate change and other environmental issues in economics, policy, and sustainable development, with regional focuses on Australia, China, ASEAN, and Northeast Asia. He was listed in the Top 250 Researchers in Australia as the field leader in Environmental Law and Policy, the top 2% of the world’s scientists in the energy field, and the top 2.2% of economists in the RePEc database according to the past 10 year’s publications. He received LLM from the University of Dundee, MERE and PhD of Economics from the Australian National University.

Dr. Rogel A. Santos has been in the minerals and mining industry for over 35 years. Part of his work experience was on audit of the mineralization and mining potential of a property or prospect and on Research and Development (R & D) on various types of ore mineralization but focusing mainly on nickeliferous laterite geochemistry and chromite formation. His recent activities dwell mainly on marine mineral exploration, geochemistry, and mining with their potential coastal effects. Since 2007 Dr. Santos has served several mining companies from being a Senior Consultant to Superintendent for Mine Geology and Exploration and since 2015 as Acting-VP for Mining Operations. Upon his return as public servant, Dr. Santos now serves as the Chief of the Marine Geological Survey Division augmenting his more than two decades of service as Supervising Science Research Specialist under the Philippines Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the DENR. From 2000-2007 Dr. Santos holds the post of Professor 2 at Mapua University for Geochemistry, Resources Geology, and Environmental Geology. He on occasions sits as defense panelist and thesis reader for masteral students both for Mapua University and the University of the Philippines. Dr. Santos presently serves as Chairperson of the Competent Person Accreditation Sub-Committee under the Philippine Mineral Reporting Code of the Geological Society of the Philippines (GSP) and on his third term as Vice President of GSP. He is a recipient of a national award as the Professional of the Year Award in the field of Geology by the Philippines Professionals Regulation Commission in 2016 and an Alumni Achievement Award in 2017 from his alma mater, Quezon City Science High School. He earned his graduate degrees, Master of Science and Doctor of Science, at the Geological Institute of the University of Tokyo. He took his Post-doctoral fellowship at Systems Sciences Department (Applied Chemistry) also at the University of Tokyo. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Geology at the Mapua University under the grant of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau."

Roger Andreas Fischer is ADB’s Executive Director for Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Turkiye and the United Kingdom. Mr. Fischer is a national of Germany, and holds a Doctor of Laws degree from Bonn University. He served as a clerk to the Hamburg Higher Regional Court, and was an Advisor to the Executive Director for Germany at the World Bank in Washington DC. As a civil servant since 1996, he held different positions in Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), working on investment promotion, regional cooperation with Southern Africa, education and social media. As deputy head of the BMZ budget office, he gathered experience in managing the Federal Budget process. Under Germany’s G7 and G20 presidencies, he led negotiations on the development related outcomes of the Elmau and Hamburg summits. Mr. Fischer has published academic papers related to his work, most recently on G20 matters.

Graduated from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka as a B.Sc(Engineer) in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. Joined Ceylon Electricity Board(CEB) in 1986. On Commonwealth scholarship perused higher studies in the field of Computer Science at University of Kent at Canterbury, UK. Performance of Distributed Systems. was the topic of the research that earned a PhD, in 1993.

Involved in software development of customer billing application and later headed the Information Technology Branch of CEB. Also directed a project to set up the present National System Control Centre of Sri Lanka.

He currently serves as Deputy Executive Director of the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), the Philippine government’s economic think tank in the island region of Mindanao. He actively pursues collaborations with the country's power industry stakeholders and leads MinDA’s advocacy work on renewable energy and energy transition. He was also chiefly responsible for securing grant support from key international development partners for agriculture-linked RE projects in off-grid areas in Mindanao. He obtained his Masters in Public Administration at the Ateneo de Davao University; studied Peace Journalism at the University of Sydney; graduated at University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) Agribusiness Executives’ Program; and went through Executive Leadership Development Program at National University of Singapore and Good Governance at the University of Auckland. His immense knowledge of Mindanao honed over 25 years of extensive peace and development work has deepened his institutional insights that helped guide local and multi-national companies from across diverse sectors move along sound investment direction.
