This session addresses the current status and representation (or lack thereof) of women in different areas of the energy sector. In Nepal, the Urja Nepal has implemented a Leadership Development program that provides a platform for sharing experiences and networking, empowering women to overcome barriers and take on leadership roles. This session also highlights the global disparity in the representation of women in the traditional energy sector and emphasizes the benefits of diverse leadership teams. Speakers will describe strategies to advance women's leadership in the sector, such as training, policy improvements, cultural change. The presentations will describe ongoing work in, and perspectives from, Indonesia, Nepal, Fiji, and other countries.
