Thematic Track 4

Session 4.3: Digitalization and AI Accelerating Discovery and Processing of Clean Energy Inputs

Wednesday, 10 June 2026 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. (GMT+8) Auditorium Hall 4 Organized by ADB

Intelligent systems are reshaping the upstream and downstream dimensions of the clean energy economy. This session presents applications of IoT, AI, and digital twin technologies that address critical emerging challenges, from real-world energy monitoring at community scale to the governance of large AI infrastructure and the end-of-life management of solar assets.

Presenters will share how IoT-enabled living labs deployed across more than 110 residential buildings are generating high-resolution consumption data to validate real-world energy transition solutions; how digital twin technology and AI-driven regulatory frameworks can address the rapidly approaching challenge of photovoltaic end-of-life management across Asia-Pacific as early solar installations approach decommissioning; and how the emergence of GW-scale AI factories in India is creating new demands on power systems that require co-location strategies with renewable energy parks, advanced grid planning, and coherent policy frameworks to ensure the digital economy is powered sustainably.
