Mr. Jigar Arvindbhai Bhatt is currently working as Energy Specialist at Manila, Philippines of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He has contributed to the energy sector for more than 23 years in the government and private sector. Mr. Bhatt holds a specialized Post-Graduation Diploma in the field of Project Management from one of the premier management institutions – Indian Institute of Management, Indoe (IIM-I) and a Degree in Electrical Engineering. He has worked with the state electricity department in Transmission, Distribution, and Generation in India and with the private sectors (Bechtel, L&T Power etc.) in Design, Procurement and Project Management fields. His current role and responsibility at ADB operation is to lead the project and technical assistance program processing and administration in the South Asia region. It involves coordination with the key line ministries, utilities and other relevant concern agencies to develop implementable policies and programs for energy sector in the region. He is deeply involved in the project processing and administering of ADB’s energy sector portfolio in India.

Jinha (Jin Ha) Kim is a Gender Specialist (Climate Change) at the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). She supports the sector operations in the energy sector, working at the intersection of gender equality, climate resilience, and digital innovation. With over 15 years of experience in international development across Asia and the Pacific, her expertise spans gender mainstreaming, inclusive governance, climate adaptation across sectors, and results-based project design. At ADB, she leads and supports initiatives on gender-responsive climate action and digital transformation, including extreme heat resilience, early warning systems, and digital solutions that enhance women’s access to information, services, and economic opportunities. Prior to joining ADB, Jinha began her career at the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate in New York and further deepened her focus on gender, digital innovation, and climate change through roles at UNDP and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). She holds a Master of Public Policy from KDI School and a Master’s degree in Chinese Literature from Fudan University.

Dr. Jinlong Ma is a Professor at Tianjin University, China, and serves as Vice President of the APEC Sustainable Energy Center (APSEC). In his leadership role at APSEC, Prof. Ma oversees strategic advisory and research initiatives, with a primary focus on advancing energy transition solutions across APEC economies. His career encompasses senior appointments throughout Asia and the Pacific, including positions at leading academic and research institutions, technical and advisory organizations, and international energy corporations. Dr. Ma’s expertise includes energy system planning, renewable energy integration, power sector development, electricity market analysis, energy conservation and efficiency, sustainable urban energy solutions, as well as carbon emission inventory and mitigation strategies. He holds a PhD in Energy Economics from the University of Melbourne, an M.Eng. in Energy Technology and Planning from the Asian Institute of Technology, and a B.Eng. in Electric Engineering from North China University of Electric Power. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Energy, and a member of the International Association of Energy Economics and the IEEE.

Jiwan Acharya is working in Energy Sector Office – South Asia Team, Sectors Group 1 of Asian Development Bank (ADB) as Principal Energy Specialist. He currently focuses on developing and implementing energy efficiency, renewable energy and other broader energy sector projects in India and Nepal. He is also serving as focal person for Regional Cooperation and Integration for Energy in South Asia. Prior to that, he was with Energy Sector Group Secretariat in the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department of ADB since 1 October 2006 as Senior Energy Specialist. He is a key member of ADB's Energy Sector Group and Climate Change Team and was responsible for overseeing ADB's several key initiatives including Energy for All, and Low Carbon Technology Transfer, among others. Mr. Acharya served as ADB’s focal point for Clean Technical Fund (CTF) and Scaling Up Renewable Energy for Low Income Countries (SREP) under the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) as well as Sustainable Energy for All Initiative (SE4All). Prior to joining ADB, Mr. Acharya was Senior Research Officer in Winrock International in Kathmandu, Nepal covering climate change, carbon financing, energy access and broader clean energy areas.Mr. Acharya, who is a Nepalese national, has a Master of Arts in Economics, Master of Science in Energy Systems and Management and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

João Aleluia is an Energy Specialist with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), currently outposted to its Resident Mission in Cambodia, where he leads the management of ADB’s energy sector portfolio in the country. João has over 18 years of experience in the fields of sustainable energy, climate change, and waste management, with a strong track record across both international organizations and the private sector. Prior to joining ADB, João served as Regional Technical Advisor at the UNFCCC, focusing on carbon pricing instruments and market-based mechanisms in Asia and the Pacific. His earlier career includes roles as a program coordinator with UN-ESCAP and as the managing director of a Beijing-based start-up developing greenhouse gas emission reduction projects in China. João holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable Energy Systems from the MIT Portugal Program (2018), a Master’s in Energy Management from ESCP-EAP Business School (Paris, 2008), and an MSc in Engineering and Industrial Management from the University of Lisbon (2004).

John Altomonte is a climate, energy, and biodiversity expert. He is the Founder and CEO of SunFund, a Philippine startup expanding access to residential rooftop solar through zero-upfront financing and predictable monthly payments. He also advises companies and institutions on climate strategy, greenhouse gas accounting, transition planning, and sustainability reporting. Beyond the energy sector, John is active in biodiversity research and conservation. His work focuses on Philippine flora, protected areas, and nature-based solutions, with field research in areas such as the Pantabangan–Carranglan Watershed Forest Reserve. He is also involved in environmental governance and conservation through PlantVision, where he writes about ecology, plants, and culture. Across his work, Johnny brings together an inter- and transdiciplinary approach to accelerate climate solutions in the country.

A licensed electrical engineer with experience in the Philippine transmission sector. He currently serves as Manager of the Project Review and Monitoring Division at the National Transmission Corporation (TransCo), where he leads the review and evaluation of transmission projects and policy initiatives. Actively participates in high-level energy sector committees and technical studies for the Department of Energy and other industry stakeholders, focusing on grid integration, reliability, and regulatory compliance. He earned his master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Mapua University. A Registered Electrical Engineer and Associate ASEAN Engineer, he brings strong technical expertise and leadership to the field. Alongside his work in the energy sector, he has been active in teaching electrical engineering subjects across several colleges and universities, helping develop future professionals through practical and industry-aligned instruction.

With over 30 years of experience at the intersection of energy, finance, and international business development, Jon has extensive insight into offshore wind markets across Europe and Asia. He regularly engages with industry leaders and government stakeholders to identify market opportunities and strengthen collaboration. Jon is a frequent speaker at international energy events, where he shares perspectives on global offshore wind trends, supply chain development, and the role of Norwegian companies in delivering future renewable energy solutions.

General Manager for ComAp SE Asia Pte Ltd, a Czech Republic Company with 35 years history in Power generation Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and Electronic Engineering and has extensive experience in advanced electrical systems and clean energy solutions. His career includes explosion proof electrical panels, for oil & gas industries, live upgrades for data centres, and retrofitting projects for airbases and military facilities.. He has delivered microgrid solutions across Asia, working with developers, EPCs, and consultants to integrate distributed energy resources (DERs) for resorts in the Maldives, Philippines, and Indonesia. He has also supported rural electrification projects in Myanmar and Indonesia, expanding access to reliable energy in underserved communities. During the COVID 19 pandemic, Jonathan led a turnkey project for Singapore’s Ministry of Health, establishing quarantine facilities powered by BESS, PV, and utility connections for over 1,000 workers. At ComAp, he leads commercial and project teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions.

Jongmi Son is an Energy Specialist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) working in the Energy Sector Office. She focuses on developing and implementing clean energy projects in South Asia, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, and power sector modernization. She also supports the organization of the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF), ADB’s flagship platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration on clean energy in the region. Prior to joining ADB, she worked at the Export–Import Bank of Korea, where she was involved in financing and appraisal of infrastructure and energy projects in developing countries. She has an academic background in finance, economics, policy, international relations, and management information systems. She has an interdisciplinary academic background in finance, economics, public policy, and management information systems. She holds a master’s degree in asset management and a bachelor’s degree in foreign language studies and law.
