Deep Dive Workshop
Towards a Cleaner Future: Accelerating Global Cooperation and Innovation for Sustainable Energy
Wednesday, 4 June 2025
2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (GMT +8)
The Asia-Pacific region is undergoing a profound transformation in its energy landscape, with clean energy innovations playing a pivotal role in the transition toward a more sustainable and resilient energy future. Governments and private sector actors are making substantial investments in research and development to enhance the deployment of cutting-edge energy technologies. These advancements are unlocking new energy potential, expanding energy access, and fostering greater inclusivity in energy markets.
The clean energy transition in Asia presents a complex set of challenges and opportunities that require a multifaceted approach. Despite notable progress, several challenges persist that impede the widespread adoption of clean energy technologies.
Central to this transition is the development of capacity-building initiatives that enhance the expertise of local stakeholders and accelerate the adoption of advanced energy solutions. Building expertise in energy efficiency and renewable technologies, while also sharing successful models of knowledge transfer, is key to accelerating progress in energy transitions.
Emerging technologies such as hydrogen, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), and advancements in renewable energy will play a critical role in shaping the future of energy systems. These innovations hold the potential to transform energy infrastructure, mitigate emissions, and improve energy security.
By fostering a collaborative environment, this workshop will encourage the exchange of ideas, highlight shared experiences, and focus on practical solutions for advancing the clean energy transition in Asia. The insights gathered will help shape the way forward in accelerating global cooperation and innovation for sustainable energy.
