Deep Dive Workshop

Intelligent Energy Systems for Inclusive, Just and Sustainable Energy Solutions

Wednesday, 10 June 2026 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (GMT+8) Auditorium Hall 1 Organized by GIZ

Intelligent energy systems are a catalyst and the key to inclusive, just and sustainable energy transitions, as they enhance resilience and optimize development, operation and management of clean energy solutions. Intelligent energy systems provide the requisite platform for decarbonization of energy systems through data sharing, analysis as well as demand and supply optimization. They increase productivity, efficiency, safety, security, reliability and sustainability of clean energy solutions. Despite their high relevance, intelligent energy systems are yet to be fully mainstreamed and operationalized due to prevailing gaps and barriers on information, infrastructure and skills/knowledge.

There are already various attempts by multiple actors including GIZ to fill the gaps and to overcome the barriers for digital transformation in just energy transition. There is a need for dissemination of knowledge, skills and experiences to a wider audience active in building resilient, and intelligent energy systems. In this backdrop, the Energy Working Group of GIZ's internal sector network TUEWAS is sharing examples of real experiences from the countries in Asia and the Pacific regarding development and application of intelligent energy solutions and digital tools in the field of clean energy.
